I have a passion for travelling which has been accelerated in the last couple of years. I’ve worked as a geologist around the world but the more I travel the more I realise there’s so much I haven’t seen. Towards the end of June I checked out some flight suggestions that had popped up on Jacks Flight Club. One was Ryan Air’s summer sale, I was sceptical at first but they did have some amazing prices. So July 13th Birmingham to Zadar in Croatia, where I visited the Old Town, beautiful winding streets and great places to eat and drink with a summery seaside vibe, Alfred Hitchcock was very complimentary about the sunset there. Two days later Zadar to Budapest (£24.13), I took a train from Budapest to Esztergom a lovely city on the Danube with northern Europe’s largest basilica and it’s really big. The view from the top is spectacular and you can see Slovakia over the other side of the bridge there that spans the river. So after the basilica I wondered across the bridge and had a beer in Slovakia. Back across the bridge to catch the train back to Budapest. Another day enjoying the parks, palaces and fantastic history of the city then a flight back to Birmingham, cost £21.56. I travel light but to bag three countries in a few days at that cost - amazing. Life is so short and you never know what’s around the corner so just do it!
