I had to call the new job to tell them that I was stuck in Rome...

Over Easter, I went on a girly holiday with a couple of friends and we were travelling on a coach between Florence and Venice. The coach unloaded our luggage and my backpack just never came out. It turned out it had been stolen and the back pack contained my passport. I spent the day in Venice at the Carabineri (police) station getting the police report for my insurance and an emergency passport home. As it was the Easter weekend, the British Embassy was closed so we had to extend our stay and I had to call the new job I hadn’t yet started to tell them that I was stuck in Rome and would be missing my first few shifts. So this photo is my experience of the beautiful, historic city of Venice…
